Treating Osteoporosis with Human Tecar VISS: Maximizing quality of life today – and tomorrow

Osteoporosis (loss of bone mass with age, and consequent bone weakness/increased risk of bone fractures) is a major healthcare issue in today’s society, one that carries a hefty price tag both in economic terms, and in quality of life.

Pharmacological therapy, together with physical exercise and a healthy diet, are all crucial. Nonetheless, Human Tecar Specialists can now tackle the disease by means of focused, high-frequency acoustic-mechanical vibration thanks to a new-generation technology, Human Tecar VISS – getting tangible, clinically proven results.

These are substantiated by a top international scientific journal: “Clinical Cases in Mineral and Bone Metabolism” (cf. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29354158), which published a recent paper (2017 Sep-Dec;14(3):305-311. doi: 10.11138/ccmbm/2017.14.3.305. Epub 2017 Dec 27) on the “Effect of combined treatment with focused acoustic-mechanical vibration and pharmacological therapy on bone mineral density and muscle strength in post-menopausal women”.

The latter has shown that Human Tecar VISS, square-wave, focused acoustic-mechanical vibration (EU Patent EP1824439B1 - US Patent 11/792386 - RU Patent 2007125468) has a significant, beneficial effect on the disease as it not only improves bone mineral density (BMD), but also enhances muscle strength and proprioception (“improvement of BMD and T-score at the lumbar spine and femoral neck, handgrip strength and isokinetic strength of the knee extensors, balance and gait, and quality of life”). Similar results have also been detailed in other scientific publications.

Osteoporosis is often called a “silent disease”, whose symptoms normally come to light when the individual has a minor fall that causes a bone to break – a “fragility fracture” – and/or at the onset of intense pain.

Human Tecar Centers treat patients with Human Tecar VISS not only in the event of osteoporosis being confirmed, but also as a form of preventive therapy: a further step forward for avant-garde physiotherapy’s role in maximizing quality of life.
