The staying power of Zersenay Tadese: feeling sensational, fast

It was March 21st, 2010 when Eritrean Zersenay Tadese set the world record in the half marathon in Lisbon, 625 miles as the crow flies from the Catalan capital where we often find him – getting Human Tecar treatment.

For the bewitching Barcelona of Gaudì houses one of the world’s benchmark Human Tecar centers, where the 35-year-old long-distance runner (like a great number of other international elite athletes) is closely monitored by HT Specialist Javier Guerra – veritable virtuoso of physiotherapy and Human Tecar expert of many years.

In spite of having hit his mid-thirties, Zersenay is very much at the forefront of Nike’s top team and just as proactive in looking to his next record and his next race – against himself, in a way, since his own half marathon WR has not yet been beaten, for all that it’s been seven years – almost to the day – since that momentous 58:23 in Lisbon. The Eritrean flag bearer at the London Olympics, in fact, has kept his training program just as punishing as ever, with the ceaseless support of the Human Tecar system and its athlete-specific, time-specific treatment sessions that take Zersenay from his morning wake-up call to evening recoup and relaxation.

So Zersenay can feel sensational. Muy rápido.
