Boost Boston encore: getting better by the year

6 julio, 2017 - Categoría: Deportes Eventos

Boston is hard to resist: it is no chance that Adidas chose the aristocratic “City of Champions” as scenario for its annual Boost Boston Games, whose second edition took place on Friday, June 2 (at the Dilboy Stadium, Somerville) and Sunday, June 4, which was the street meet proper, in Charles Street. Before and throughout the weekend, a Human Tecar crew consisting of Cristian Martinelli, Luca Antenucci and Javier Guerra supported the athletes, maximizing performance and recovery before and after training and competition – from 9 AM to 9 PM every day, May 31 to June 4. Again, the Charles Street event was particularly exciting thanks to Boston crowds cheering runners, pole vaulters and long jumpers on. In a way, just as the Adidas games “boost Boston”, so do Boston (and Human Tecar) “boost” the world of track & field.

Global Athletics & Marketing’s organization was impeccable, and both the Boston-based athlete representation & event marketing firm and the Adidas team welcomed us back to New England like old friends. Besides our own Human Tecar Specialists, there were several champions whose personal physiotherapists regularly employ our MO not only at the Boston games, but also throughout the season. Like South Africa’s Wayde van Niekerk, who scored gold in Boston this year in the 200 meters, clocking 19.84 seconds.

Besides van Niekerk’s, other wins that saw us especially involved were American sprinter Tori Bowie’s, for instance – a longtime Human Tecar aficionada. This was Tori’s second Boston gold: in the 100m last year; in the 150m on June 4 last. Bowie was enthusiastic about the inaugural event in ’16, and found this year’s “even better” – so much so she set a new world record in the 150m: 16.30 seconds (versus the previous WR of 16.36). Another athlete assisted by Human Tecar, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, in turn, set a new WR in the 200m: 21.76 seconds, versus the previous 22.55. In the long jump, 28-year-old Brit Shara Proctor, who also enjoyed Human Tecar treatment, jumped for gold at 6.73 meters.
