Module 4

The Original Tecartherapy in Dermatofunctional Physiotherapy

INTRODUCTION

Aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery are now widespread practices and both women and men of all ages regularly resort to them to improve their physical appearance and self-esteem. While on the one hand this type of procedure is increasingly tested, on the other hand it is necessary to consider the non-negligible aspects of the phases that occur immediately before and after the surgical or aesthetic intervention.

Breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, liposuction, facelift, hyaluronic acid infiltrations, botulinum and much more, create common generic risks such as pain, hematomas, edema, scars, fibrosis, but also more specific complications. To significantly reduce these effects, ensure good skin regeneration, better oxygenation and future and faster healing, the preparation of the connective and muscular tissue that precedes and follows each aesthetic or surgical intervention is of extreme importance.

In physiotherapy, a specialized area of rehabilitation called Dermatofunctional Physiotherapy is developing, closely linked to Aesthetic Medicine and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, which deals with treating dysfunctions of the skin tissue to restore them to their state of functional integrity. It also deals with alterations and physical-functional-endocrine-metabolic-aesthetic pathologies of the integumentary system or "the Skin".

The Original Tecartherapy plays an important role in dermatofunctional physiotherapy, allowing the physiotherapist to specialize in this new therapeutic field with enormous development prospects, expanding skills that favor collaboration with various professional figures, offering the patient better access to complementary therapies.
