Huge perspectives for physiotherapy.
During the national congress of the Italian Society of Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine (SIMFER), the research group of professor Raoul Saggini, from the University of Chieti presented the first results of a study carried out using the HumanTecar® SYNERGY VISS technology, for the treatment of chronic headache, through the stimulation of the neuromuscular system.
Therefore, new ways are opened, for the therapy of one of the most widespread and disabling painful syndromes, which has a remarkable negative impact on the healthcare and socio-economic system.
Coupling the traditional therapy with the focused mechano-acoustic vibration allowed to reduce the occurrence of headache episodes (the number of episodes/month is reduced by 50% versus 13% with standard therapy) and therefore the number of work absence days, to reduce the drug consumption and thus ameliorate the quality of life of patients in a more significative way when compared to the drug treatment alone.
These results come from biweekly applications, but our experience in the field confirms every day that closer treatments can guarantee even more effective results.
We are thereby encouraged to carry on our research activities in pain therapy, in order to open new development opportunities for physiotherapy, which is in continuous expansion and essential to many fields of medicine, thanks to its multiplicity of applications
